FAQs

Is it for boys and girls?2024-02-23T11:58:30+00:00

The Cape Choral Academy is co-educational.

Are you a religious school?2024-02-23T11:58:15+00:00

Although we do not belong to a specific religious organisation or denomination, we do encourage individual spiritual awareness and are open to any learner, regardless of their religion or views. All respect each other’s views whether they vary or not. Learners must also realise that we do perform in Christian churches, for that is where our craft finds its origins.

Where does your funding come from?2024-02-23T11:40:21+00:00

Currently the Cape Choral Academy is funded by school fees and private donations, with our main sponsor being Accountability. Please be sure to look at our Get Involved  page on how you could help.

Do you just sing or do you offer instruments?2024-02-23T11:35:08+00:00

Our learners have opportunities to learn an instrument of their choice through our relationship with the Stellenbosch University Konservatorium of Music. Please see our Approach to Music  page for more information.

Do the children do academics as well, or is the choir just an after-school activity?2024-02-23T11:33:11+00:00

The Cape Choral Academy is an IEB accredited school, with all subjects required. We place a focus on choral singing. Normal academic subjects and lessons are taught through Brainline. See more under academic approach .

Can my children stay in their current school, and only join for the choir sessions?2024-02-23T11:32:12+00:00

No, the Cape Choral Academy is a school and a learner must be enrolled in order to join our choir.

What are the school fees?2024-02-23T11:31:04+00:00

Our school fees for 2024 are available under the fee structure page.
